Dr. Cherry Chit-Lai Tsang

Pianist, Dr. Cherry Chit-Lai Tsang maintains an active career as soloist, collaborator, and teacher. She has performed recitals and chamber music throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States, where she made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2009.  Tsang has collaborated with various orchestras, including the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Ars Nova Orchestra, and the Eastman Symphony Orchestra, working with conductors Neil Varon, Jed Gaylin, Alan Cumberland, and Christoph Campastrini, among others. As a member of the Eastman BroadBand Ensemble, Tsang toured Mexico and performed at the Cervantino International Arts Festival, and participated in its most recent recording, Diaries: Works for Large Ensembles. A dedicated chamber musician, Tsang recently performed both solo and chamber music in the Citibank Plaza Series, Sanibel Music Festival (Florida), and at venues such as Kneisel Hall, Symphony Space, the Miller Theatre at Columbia University and the George Eastman House. Her recent Concert tour in the United States includes concerts at the Wooster Chamber Music Festival, Ithaca College and NYU. 
Tsang performs frequently with trumpeter James Thompson at festivals such as the National Trumpet Competition and the International Trumpet Guild (ITG), and recently made a recording of arrangements of Bach on the ITG label. Additionally, Tsang has collaborated with faculty at the Great Wall International Music Academy in Beijing, performed in the Eastman Virtuosi Series with faculty at the Eastman School of Music, and participated in the Mozarteum Festival in Salzburg. Other collaborative artists include Giuliano Sommerhalder, Florent Heau, Philippe Cuper, Piotr Milewski, Zhou Xi and Steven Mead.  

Tsang received her Doctorate in Piano Performance from the Eastman School of Music, where she also received her Masters Degree, and her Bachelor Degree from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Her principal teachers include Gabriel Kwok and Barry Snyder, for whom she was teaching assistant from 2008 to 2011.

曾捷麗博士在香港演藝學院完成學士學位課程後,赴美國伊士曼音樂學院,以優秀學術成績獲得該學院之碩士及博士學位。並於2008-11在羅切斯特大學及伊士曼音樂學院當Barry Snyder教授的鋼琴助教。
曾博士除活躍於鋼琴獨奏外,也熱愛室樂演奏及二重奏。繼美國Sanibel音樂節以及紐約卡內基音樂廳的演出外,她亦獲邀於歐洲、亞洲及美洲舉行多場演奏 會。她曾多次與樂團演奏鋼琴協奏曲,包括Hong Kong Ars Nova Orchestra, 香港演藝學院交響樂團,及美國伊士曼交響樂團。作為一個積極的室樂演奏家,曾氏常與多位世界著名音樂家合作,包括 James Thompson, Giuliano Sommerhalder, Steven Mead, Florent Heau, Jane Rutter 及 Piotr Milewski。在過去年度,她更與James Thompson為國際小號協會錄制巴哈詠嘆調三重奏。此外,作為Eastman Broadband Ensemble (美國一新音樂室樂團)成員之一,曾氏參與了由Urtext Record Label 所出的唱片:Diaries: Works for Large Ensemble,並於去年發布。
